It's a bit of understatement not to say, Little Thieves by Margaret Rogerson easily became my favorite read of 2021. Though I suspect that might changed when Marissa Meyer's Gilded, but Little Thieves would still be up there.

Little Thieves is a retelling of The Goose Girl with plenty of twists and thievery. Vanja is the adopted goddaughter of Fortune and Death, and was a loyal maid to princess Gisele until Vanja stole her identity. Using a magical string of pearls, Vanja rose to the rank of princess. But being royalty is not her ultimate goal, as she continues to steal under the guise of her former self. Until one day she steals from a low god and is cursed to turn into a girl of jewels. Meanwhile a pretty boy named Emeric appears on the scene, pursuing the thief Vanja.

I loved Owen's The Merciful Crow duology, and I was super excited to read Little Thieves, and it did not disappoint.
