First of all, I love that it takes an underrated and picks is apart and retells it in such a compelling way. Vanja is a girl who’s jealousy takes her to a whole new level. I mean stealing a princesses identity and robbing the nobels blind?! She must be a nice shade of green underneath to go that far.
And that fact that she was adopted by Death and Fortune is such wow. Like how much more complex do you want to get here, but complex is good complex is interesting when it’s easy to understand and this book was pretty easy to understand. You were on a roller coaster through the entirety of the book, I think I might have gotten a bit of motion sickness. But in the best way possible. And as the cherry on top, we’ve got a confident , smart, witty, and badass leading lady. Give it up for Vanja everyone like for real!
I am definitely going to read more of Margaret’s book because she is bloody brilliant!
