Little Thieves is a knock-out YA fairytale retelling -- you've never seen the goose girl like this before. In this new book, Margaret Owen crafted a multilayered tale with morally grey characters who kept me turning pages long into the night. It's been a long time since I've read a YA story that kept me this engaged!

I would strongly recommend this story to readers who enjoy or are looking for:
- fairytale retellings where the original source story is flipped on its head
- stories centering morally grey heroines or complex and not-always-likable-yet-still-somehow-lovable characters
- ensemble stories similar to Six of Crows
- stories that surprise you and take you for a ride
- inclusive worldbuilding and LGBTQIA+ characters
- enchanting prose and engaging, snappy dialogue

I truly enjoyed Vanya's story and can't wait to see more of her in Margaret Owen's next installment in this series. While this story does stand on its own, I expect most readers will be counting down the days until the next book, much like I am!
