How many different ways can I possibly find to say that I absolutely adore Margaret Owen's writing? Her brain is an amazing thing, and I would pay a lot of money (that I don't actually have) to be a fly on the wall while she comes up with her stories! Little Thieves is a retelling of the Goose Girl fairy tale, and it's one of the most amazing retellings I've ever read.

Owen's previous book series had one of the most unique magic systems I have ever read, and the magic system in this one definitely lived up to my expectations. A curse that involves Vanja slowly being converted into one giant mass of shiny gem stones? Sheer brilliance.

As always with Owen's writing, I couldn't help but to absolutely fall in love with... well, all of the characters involved. There is no choosing a single favorite character (Ragne), because all of them are so well written that they basically jump off the page at you. Add to that the fact that all of them are LGBTQ+ and the whole thing is just *chef's kiss* Perfection.
