"Once upon a time, on the coldest night of midwinter, in
the darkest heart of the forest, Death and Fortune came to a
crossroads."
How can you not be hooked with a first line like that? Not to mention when it begins a retelling of The Goose Girl "about stolen lives, thorny truths, and the wicked girls at the heart of both."
The Merciful Crow and The Faithless Hawk are some of my all time favorite books, and I can't wait to add Little Thieves to the list.
