Grimm's tales have been tackled so many times over the years and for a good reason - they are dark, twisty stories that have drawn storytellers and listeners alike for centuries. But so many retellings now are cash-grabs and only retell the same handful of stories. NOT SO with "Little Thieves." This story is unique, and I think there is a great balance struck between honoring the dark original story while still being humorous and engaging. I think "Little Thieves" will be something really special, and I don't understand why it hasn't gotten more attention yet! I can't tell you how fast I added it to my TBR.
