Not my cup of tea
I tried to like this book. The idea of fae in the real world stealing children see,Ed incredible interesting to me. However, I found the book itself incredibly boring. I didn’t think the tired mom who may or may not have seen something just got on my nerves. The inspector that kind of believed her did too. I read about 30% of the book before I finally gave up.
It could have gotten better, but I just couldn’t deal with it. The clueless husband who did basically nothing and acted like he was amazing was just stupid. Overall, I couldn’t suspend belief that this situation was real. Maybe it was an exploration of mental health but even there it fell short for me. You don’t have to be all alone and in theory your spouse should be part of your support system.
