This book was ultimately quite frustrating. On one hand, you have a realistic look at postpartum depression, which is ever so important, but on the other hand, you have the allusions to changelings. If the author had stayed true to one storyline or the other, this book would have worked. However, because the author tried to give equal opportunity to both storylines, both ultimately ended up canceling each other out. The find in the river, for example, is unimportant and irrelevant if the issue is PPD. If, on the other hand, the issue is the fae, well, then many of the other situations are immaterial to the story. Ultimately, the ending is too ambiguous, making it a disappointment. It'd be really nice to see a solid adult novel that incorporates the fae - there are too few (and even less that don't devolve into romance novels), but this isn't one of them.
