A mother claiming that her newborn twins are changelings . . . Is she crazy?

This is a surprisingly engrossing read! I don't usually go in for thrillers, but Little Darlings was a refreshing change of pace.

This is a quick read with great pacing. The story never lulls and I raced through it in a couple of days. It skirts the concept of the unreliable narrator, as Golding teases the reader with the dichotomy of is-she-crazy/is-she-not-crazy. Although the author indulges the use of the trope of the young, rogue cop with unorthodox methods, it works here.

The ending is interesting. The story keeps the pages turning, with a few red herrings that were mostly obvious but still enticing. This is an enjoyable thriller for when you’re in the mood for a quickly moving story with a compelling premise. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it!
