As the title of this first impression suggests, this story is definitely a dark, fairy tale- like story possibly involving changelings. I can't express deep enough how much this actually intrigues me. I have heard about this type of story but have not much read them myself. And to be from the point of view of the mother who is the only one who notices the difference? I think I need to see how this all plays out for myself.
