The cover of Little Darlings is gorgeous. The mist over the entwined branches puts the reader in mind of modern depictions of faeries. This is one twisted and creepy story, but there's more to it than just the supernatural aspect. The struggles of new motherhood and possibly even post-partum depression feature in these first few chapters. Lauren keeps waiting for that "rush of love" that all new mothers talk about, but it doesn't come. Will she find it when her new babies are in peril? The tension is there and this story will resonate with a lot of people. Changeling children have featured more often in stories over the past couple of years, and the public's fascination with these fairy tales is only growing.
