The cover was what drew me in to this preview, but the actual preview of the story didn't make me want to keep reading. The writing itself is obviously polished, but feels forced. While the hook is there (a man stumbles upon the body of his father at the funeral home where they both work), chapters that alternate between the protagonist's childhood and present feel disjointed.
