Teenage years are "supposed" to be a time where young people, on the verge of adulthood, are able to try things, test boundaries, and make mistakes that will not have life-long consequences. This is the time best suited to testing the waters, to ensure that the young person is as ready as possible to be on their own. Unfortunately, there's a certain naivete inherent in that assumption. There are no "freebies" just because a person hasn't turned 18 yet. Some mistakes will follow you throughout your life regardless of your legal status.

The cast of characters in "Lies You Never Told Me" will appeal to virtually every reader. We all have either been these characters or know someone just like them. There's the one who works so hard but always seems to get walked on. There's the one who means well but tends to be myopically focused on how "right" they are that they don't question their own judgment. There's the frighteningly obsessive one, and more. The combination of these different personalities makes for a truly explosive story.

"Lies You Never Told Me" was a very easy story to get into. The writing is conversational, like you're just chatting with a dear friend on a porch somewhere, watching a sunny day go by. It's the emotional turbulence of the story that will get you. I was swept away with Gabe's frustration as he righteously insisted that he was being set up and stalked. I found myself constantly rooting for Gabe's new friend, who seems so quiet and reserved but really hungry for friendship and a normal life.

I think that you will be swept up, too, by the different characters in this story. In the best possible way!
