After reading a couple of chapters, I realized that I couldn't put down this book.
This book was told by two different characters who don't know each other. They fall for the wrong person and this decision leads to unfortunate consequences. Immediately, these details sparked my interest to read this novel.
I liked the diverse cast of characters in the novel. For instance, Elyse's friend Brynn is Filipina. I rarely read characters that are like me, so this was a nice surprise. Gabe also happens to be Chicano although he doesn't seem to be fluent in Spanish. The author managed to highlight the prejudice against POC characters in a compelling manner.
All in all, I enjoyed reading this novel. I would recommend it to teens who like to read mystery/thrillers.
