Wilbur Smith and David Churchill wrote an amazing book! I have loved every book that I have read of Wilbur Smith's so far and this one is no different. The characters in this book are strong and well defined! I was instantly drawn in to the storyline and I felt like the entire story was consistently excellent.
I have not read any of the other books in the Courtney family series but I felt like this one was a great stand alone book. Even though Hitler is dead, Gerhard Courtney's brother, Konrad, is free and determined to gain power with his Nazi beliefs. Part of the story takes place in Kenya and the British empire is starting to have some rebellion among the people. There is a battle of freedom and it had me on the edge of my seat and staying up late to read more. I could not put this book down until I completely finished it. I definitely recommend that you read this one!
