In Wilbur Smith's #19 book in the Courtney family series, this is the sequel to a previous book with Saffron. Not having read any of the previous books, I did not find it was hard to follow along--there was sufficient back story written into the book to where it peaked my interest to read the previous one (eventually) but not enough to really fully give it away.

In Legacy of War, we follow Saffron to Kenya, as Hitler is dead and WWII is over. It is a thrilling, gritty book that continues to follow some people who still continue to believe in Hitler's way of thinking. The danger feels real and the writing is engaging...I definitely found myself cheering for some of the characters.

A lot of books regarding WWII are set in Germany or Europe, but Legacy of War stands out, as it is mostly set in Kenya. It definitely grabs your attention and I appreciated the writing style, and the engaging story.
