This opening gives me strong Gossip Girl vibes – which I would have eaten right up a few years ago, but I think this scene has been too saturated as of late. And not just in books and works of fiction, but a la celebrity admissions scandal as well. I am fatigued in all directions by rich kids and their scandalous lives. I only wanted to read the After the Ball segments, which I suppose just means this is not for me at this time.
