I really wasn't sure what to expect from this book, but wow did the first chapter capture my interest and keep me wanting more. So the premise is a father and son go missing on a camping trip. The son is arrested years later, and is a media frenzy. He gets put in a mental health ward. No one is able to communicate with him, so now enter Maya. She is a newly graduated speech pathologist. She had worked as on orderly in this facility, but upon graduation was promoted. She is assigned to him, and surprisingly as soon as she talks, she captures the interest of the "boy", who is really a man now. He tries to escape, but Maya is having none of that, and eventually he lays watching her as we is about to be put back in his cell. This is full of twists, turns and intrigue. I am enjoying the character build, and I honestly can't wait to read the rest of this book.
