But I'm not sure it will deliver. First, the cover is rather bland. A gold medal on a black background looks more like a self-published book rather than one by a publisher. The black makes the book fade into the background. It wouldn't pop out at me in a bookstore.
As for the excerpt, I wasn't impressed. While the first sentence in the introduction started off rather startling about a mother holding her dead child (actually describing one of Michaelangelo's sculptures), the rest wasbland. Very short sections that give a scant information. The snyopsis promises a lot, but the excerpt didn't deliver. It read more like a blog article. I doubt the rest of the book will be any better. This is a hard pass.
