This book was absolutely incredible! The characters are so well developed and I loved seeing their growth throughout the book. This book covers more serious topics and dives into the ugly side of homophobia in the 1950s. There were definitely portions that were uncomfortable to read but it’s the honest truth of how being gay in America was and still is sometimes, even in our modern world. Throughout I found my self growing such love for the characters and worrying about how I would feel when the villain was finally revealed. It starts off as a pretty slow burn, which I loved because the world building was incredible. but around the halfway point everything really takes off and I found myself unable to put the book down. I loved the emphasis on chosen family within this book and you could truly feel how much the characters love each other. I’m so thrilled this book is getting a sequel!!
