I love a good mystery book. I was immediatly interested when the description compared it to Knives Out.
I like how the book starts. It helps to get a view of the characters morals that he would step in to help a woman that he does not know.
The line about crimes being about secrets and how he is good at keeping and finding secrets was great! I wonder what secrets will unravel throughout the book!
I am intrigued by the fact that already both characters we have been introduced to are gay. But seeing as how the MC was fired from the police force for it, I wonder what time this is set in. An entire house full of queer people in a time when that is illegal is an interesting topic. It takes a spin on this kind of mystery book that I am interested to read more on.
I liked the first two chapters, and I want to know more about the characters. I am interested in getting to know them and see if I can figure out who the murderer was.
