Very Unique Premise

The premise of this book feels somehow fantastical, despite the grounded historically accurate (by my amateur understanding of history). I enjoyed the blend of traditional historical fiction and mystery/thriller genre staples, juxtaposed with the very avant-garde lifestyles of the characters. Though we did not get to spend much time with said characters (a few of whom were mentioned but not present during this excerpt), I'm already interested to learn more about them. Margo in particular is quite interesting to me.

The title of the book is also a wonderful nod to iconic LGTBQ+ symbolism, which is reference directly in the book.

The cover is not my favorite. If I'd seen this book in a library or bookstore I probably wouldn't not have picked it up.
