I really enjoyed the mix of world building and character development we were given in the beginning. We get to know the base of what society is like at the time of the book and what roles the characters are playing in that society. I also enjoyed that we didn't meet everyone right away. We're given a hint of who they are, but we need to keep reading to find out more.
