The cover didn't immediately grab me, since it seemed more like a moody historical drama than a mystery.
On the other hand, the First Look text really grabbed me. I love the setting of San Francisco in the 50's, and I enjoy locked room style mysteries and trying to figure out who among the limited characters is the murderer.
Evander is exactly the kind of protagonist I like, hard boiled and on the outside of the usual order of things.
