Right off the bat, the synopsis pulled me in and that's why I read the first look. A queer murder mystery sounds fascinating, and the first look definitely lived up to expectations. The imagery was beautiful, especially in chapter 2 when we are introduced to the Lamontaine home. I could see the property painted in front of me and smell the soapy smell. I love the camaraderie of the characters introduced in the first look, and I would love to read more about them attempting to learn who killed Irene. This is such an interesting idea for a book, and I haven't seen anything like it before.
