I just finished reading Laurentian Divide written by Sarah Stonich, props to her .The title doesn't begin to describe the fun inside. This small, cold town is full of very unique characters ,each with a good story that a book could be written about each of them .Sarah really knows how to paint her characters so that they are very interesting. It is a very sweet story deep down about how people in a community care for each other even if they don't know them that well.I am from the south and the descriptions of the land is like another planet.I laughed a lot or smiled while reading. One particular thing I hope I can remember .Louise has a failing mind, which is so sad ,and says some funny stuff.Someone said of her "You never know where in the coop of her brain Louise might be pecking."I hooted and called my Mother and she got a good laugh too.Genius ,And it ends just right.Nail on the head.PS And I loved Sissy's sojourn to get married when she decided to walk.
