Last Call was a meticulously researched account of the Last Call Killer, and it was such an interesting read that I was captivated from the very start. Unfortunately, this was one that I started and ultimately put to the side in favor of other, "easier" reads (i.e. romance and fantasy - anything to escape from the reality that the world is terrible and people suck), but that is no indication of how much I enjoyed the book. The heavy subject matter was expertly handled with a critical eye and with respect to the victims, a balance that can be difficult to strike in true crime books.

I enjoyed the audiobook format because it made the book feel more like my favorite true crime podcasts (Wine and Crime and MFM if you're looking for recs), and I would listen/read anything Elon Green writes in the future without hesitation.

This one was a solid 3 star read for me, and perfect for true crime fans.
