This morning I was able to sleep in and finish this fabulous true crime book, gifted to me by the publisher @celadonbooks (partner)

Summary: The Last Call Killer preyed upon gay men in New York in the ‘80s and ‘90s and had all the hallmarks of the most notorious serial killers. Yet because of the sexuality of his victims, the skyhigh murder rates, and the AIDS epidemic, his murders have been almost entirely forgotten.

This gripping true-crime narrative tells the story of the Last Call Killer and the decades-long chase to find him. And at the same time, it paints a portrait of his victims and a vibrant community navigating threat and resilience.

My thoughts: this book was fabulous! I loved learning about this little known serial killer. Unfortunately no one took these crimes seriously because of the AIDS epidemic. It described the hate crimes which happened in the city and how long it took for the police and general public to take these murders seriously. I’m falling in love with these nonfiction true crime reads 😍It was quick, fast paced, and only a little over 200 pages. I finished it in a sitting or two. The writing is beautiful and it includes maps to show where each body and crime was found/ took place. Some of the murders actually took place in NJ near me
