This was a very well written and thoroughly researched book about the “Last Call Killer” who preyed on gay men in NYC at the height of the AIDS panic in the early 90s. We meet the victims and learn about their lives and what led to their murders. The research was so well done and includes maps which are helpful in understanding the story.
It’s a no frills account of the case, and those really interested in all aspects of a true crime case will appreciate this one. It is not done in an “exploitive” manner and I think it was done very respectfully with the victims in mind.
If you really like things that are incredibly thorough and well researched and written this is definitely the book for you. It also had ties to Maine where I’m from and I had never heard of that case so I was really fascinated.
