This book truly broke my heart. The Last Call is about a serial killer that goes on a killing spree targeting gay men in NYC. Elon takes an in-depth look at each of the victims and their families, and the LGBTQ neighborhood in NYC. As a true crime fan I was completely shocked that I had no idea about these crimes. I loved that Elon focused on the investigation as well as the victims and their families. I loved that Elon truly took the time to share the victim's stories, that doesn't happen alot in true crime novels or documentaries. The only thing I didn't care for about the book was that the ending felt abrupt I would have liked to hear more about the court hearing. I will be recommending this novel to friends and patrons who like true crime novels. Thank you Bookish First, Celadon Books, and Elon Green for the opportunity to read and review this novel.
