I received "Last Call," by Elon Green, from BookishFirst website, and I'm so glad I picked this one! It's out of my usual genre, which is why I chose it. The synopsis describes it as a "gripping true crime narrative," but I found it more to be a novel about the discrimination against gay men in the late 80's, early 90's, more so than a crime novel. I understood that the AIDS epidemic caused fear and panic, but this novel really opens your eyes to how truly discriminatory people, including law enforcement, were against gay men.

I enjoyed the investigate journalism that was apparent in this book, in gathering information from all people involved and following up on statements and sources. I found this story to be well rounded and informative. As far as non-fiction novels go, I really liked this one!

I encourage all readers to pick this one up!
