Reading the blurb about Last Call, I was intrigued. I love a good true crime novel but I have a hard time finding ones that pull me in because of the writing style. Unfortunately, this is one of those books that I wanted to engorge in but couldn't. I appreciate the author giving you the perspective of who the victims were in this serial killer's spree but it felt like I couldn't connect to the characters. I am on the fence about continuing to read on or not. It is a story I have not heard of but definitely want to know more about.
It does shine a light on the difficulties being gay was up until probably the 2000s, especially for the males. I like that this book does show how these men had to hide a lot, but also showed how they still explored their true selves. Unfortunately others do not agree with this and is probably what led to a serial killer targeting gay men.
