Lando Calrissian, with plenty of galaxy navigating expertise from his little droid friend, L3-37, is enjoying his usual gambling wins against Lynn Zel Gris when her fur suddenly changes colors. This warning doesn't come in time for them to escape and both end up prisoners of the Queen of Hynestia. Lando is spared a horrifying death once he agrees to take a stolen artifact to The Empire as payment from the planet Hynestia.
Rinetta, the Queen's daughter, cleverly hides with Lando and L3 as their ship, The Millennium Falcon, takes off. The plot gets fairly confusing and Lando's half-hazarding, goofy personality doesn't really draw readers in to caring about the outcome.
The plot also takes sinister turns with mentions of torture and death.
