Interesting premise. Somewhat disappointing execution.
Set in the Disney-Star Wars universe (as opposed to the Expanded Universe), this middle-grade book focuses on Lando Calrissian. At least, it should have. He felt more like a supporting character in his own story. That isn't to say the main character (Rinetta) wasn't well-developed or interesting in her own right, just that the book should have had her name in the title.
Its connection to the new series is yet to be clarified. The prologue and epilogue featured a sequel trilogy character, but again, the full connection hasn't yet been made clear, indicating more stories to come.
Overall, I wish the book had featured and developed Lando more. I do hope to see Rinetta in future Star Wars books and possible TV series and movies because she is definitely an interesting character.
