This was a book of short stories from a Chinese author. As a result the stories had elements of Chinese culture that I appreciated.
Each story was unique and many were set in China. I loved the elements of culture and the characters created by this author.
I really liked the story, "New Fruit." It was about a mysterious fruit that showed up at a street vendor. The fruit had wonderful effects on people and they craved more. The next season, people were looking for more. The effects that changed drastically. I thought this story was unique and interesting.
The first story hooked me because it was about a really smart girl living in China that went against the government. Her brother played in video game tournaments. It was an interesting story.
