"Lulu", the first story in Te-Ping Chen's collection Land of Big Numbers, captivated me from beginning to end. The story of a twin brother and sister, "Lulu" explores the way their lives diverge, as they become aware of politics and spend time on the internet in differing pursuits. It's so interesting to me to see the story told from the brother's perspective, who comes across as passive and unambitious. It left me with a lot to think about, and I'm excited to read Chen's other stories. I like the cover a lot; it has a very unique feel to it.
