With dark vibes and the feel of the Victorian era, “Lakesedge” is the perfect read for those who enjoy the genre of YA and a more dark/spooky/mysterious feel.

While the book does start out pretty slow, it settles more towards medium pacing the closer you get to the middle and stays consistent in that regard throughout. The writing style is lovely and fairly easy to follow.

The mystery of Lakesedge unfolds interestingly, the mystery of supposed monster Rowan Sylvanan slowly unraveled by protective older sister Leta, the leading lady who despite her reservations starts to see brooding Rowan for who he truly is as he attempts to help her brother take control of the darkness within him in order to keep it at bay and eventually rid the world of it forever.

Both Leta and Rowan have suffered their fair share of pain at the hands of the Corruption and the Lord Under. Can they come together in their mutual hurt to form a friendship and maybe something more? Read it yourself to find out!
