Lakesedge is a gothic feeling story about loss, love, magic and death. Its obvious from the beginning that, though two very different people, Leta and Rowan share a bond and have the same care and passion for the ones they hold dear. For years Leta has made it her mission to keep the shadows that come from her brother Arien's nightmares at bay. Its not until they come across the monster and Lord of Lakesedge, Rowan, that they come to find these shadows are more than just a nightmare. They are a curse and a power of an alchemist. This realization brings back dreadful memories for Leta and her experience in the woods with the Lord Under, the keeper of all dead souls below.

Personally, I went for this book because of the gorgeous cover. It gave me Phantom of the Opera vibes and I just had to have it. Though not even close to Phantom, I did love the gothic and elegant storytelling in this book. I think the author did a great job at developing characters and giving them their own unique personalities. This book ended in an important cliffhanger and I can't wait to read the next in the series!
