The cover is stunning and the tale eerie from page one. I want to learn more about Arien's shadows and Violeta's light. It's easy to root for Violeta, as she tries to protect her brother from their abusive guardian. When the new lord steps forward out of the shadows into the village, I was drawn to his coldness and darkness. I want to read more to learn his story and see him and Violeta interact at Lakesedge.
