My younger queer teen self is screaming with excitement.
Firstly, I LOVE Adib Khorram's other books, so I have been really excited about this book since I heard about it. Secondly, QUEER BOY BAND MEMBERS! As a person who so desperately wanted to see myself represented in the boy bands that I idolized (...and had massive crushes on...), this was speaking to my little inner Queer teen self.
As for the snippet, I love the mix between media about the band and first-person narrative, which makes it feel so much more real. I also really enjoyed that this feels like it is going to be both sex-positive and not afraid to explore things that real teens experience but often doesn't get represented in YA literature. The characters seem messy and multidimensional, which is just what I look for in storytelling. I'm really excited to see where this goes! :)
