I actually read The Bride Test before reading The Kiss Quotient, but as soon as I finished The Bride Test, I knew I needed to go back and read this one. Helen Hoang is so good at writing characters with so much depth and for developing a story timeline that moves quickly but not too fast that a reader can't keep up.
I loved watching the feelings grow between Stella and Michael. Another thing Hoang does really well is write characters with austism accurately. Most of the time, I take issues with the ways the characters in novels are depicted when they have a disability or an illness, but she does a great job. As a reader, I really want to root for the characters to end up together, which isn't always the case with romances. The scenes with Michael and his family were some of my favorites.
The sexy times in this book were so well written. Some authors just can't write those types of scenes, but Hoang makes it seem so natural.
