I have to say, I LOVE LOVE LOVED this book. And this story. And just EVERYTHING. Literally – devoured it in less than 24 hours! (Literally a few chapters before bed, then on my commute to-and-from work.) Stella is essentially me – my mum isn’t quite hinting about grandchildren yet, but she is wondering why I’ve never brought anybody home before… especially since I’m 28. But, I’m rather picky with guys… and I have crap self-esteem which I won’t really go into here, but it makes me feel like I’ll never have a chance with any guy that I like. So Stella’s angsty feelings for Michael (and vice versa) – are something I totally understand and can relate to, even though I’m not on the autistic spectrum.

I also really enjoyed that the book explored the importance of consent. I loved the steamy parts of the story (and yes, the parts are rather detailed and hot), but I especially loved that Michael took the time to make sure Stella was 100% ready – every. single. time. I’m not sure when this became a novel movement because it really shouldn’t be, but the fact that he waited, even when Stella was on the brink of orgasm, was just. SA-WOOOOON.

I also love that was an #ownvoices book – Helen Hoang was actually diagnosed with autism as an adult, and it’s honestly kind of insane how many females go undiagnosed every year. This is why I love #ownvoices books – you really do learn something new, and I love reading from other perspectives. Plus, she’s half-Vietnamese, and that’s 100% incorporated in the story as well! LOVE.

So yeah, in case you couldn’t tell, I LOVED this book and would 100% recommend it to everybody and anybody. I’m actually ready to reread it again… and I just finished it a few hours ago.
