I enjoyed reading an #ownvoices novel, Stella is autistic just like the author. Although the premise of the story grabbed my attention and I enjoyed the book overall, the storyline is not very realistic.
According to Stella she is really bad at relationships and human interactions, this all results in her “being bad at sex”. She ends up hiring Michael, who’s an escort, to teach her about sex. Through out the book situations come up that are meant to make you question whether or not they will end up together even though it’s obvious that they will. I did find the doubt between them, about their relationship, to get old and boring very fast. All of that made the romance part of this book feel very lacking to me.
