Fun and representative debut!
Let me be honest: I am always on the hunt for books that are more inclusive and represent a diverse community of people. More specifically, as someone with a nephew who is non-verbal and low functioning on the spectrum, I've been craving books that more closely represent people on the spectrum/ with special needs.
In steps our main character, Stella Lane and supporting character Kai.
I loved that although high functioning, we are given a glimpse into the mind of a person on the spectrum, more specifically the way she process information, including jokes or sarcasm, and her sensory limitations. All the while, this is achieved through a cute, if perhaps a bit steamy, rom-com story.
I am not usually one for steamy reads ( you'll never catch me reading 50 Shades or anything like it) but this book managed to balance it out with equal parts romance and wit.
