This was one of my first forays into the romantic comedy genre, and it did not disappoint! Previously I hadn't been much of a romance reader, so I was slightly apprehensive about delving into the genre. I should not have been! Helen Hoang made the introduction enlightening, enjoyable, and oh-so steamy.
I absolutely adored the Asperger's representation in the main character, Stella. Neurodivergent representation in books is difficult to find, so it was quite refreshing to pick something like this up. I also really loved the feeling of a gender-swapped Pretty Woman that I was getting from the story. Male escort is hired by a smart, successful female in the STEM field for nothing other than educational (ha!) purposes, and of course they end up falling in love, because what's a sexy RomCom without a happy ending? (Pun intended.) I was not let down by this book.
