Stella, an Econometrician, has intimacy issues, perhaps a
symptom of her Asperger's. With her mother growing impatient for
grandchildren, and after absorbing an ugly comment, which took
aim at Stella's lack of sexual experience, she decides to hire a
male escort to 'teach' her everything she needs to know about
dating and sex.

The option to read from the perspective of a character with autism was something I particularly loved about this novel. It was fascinating to read about how different emotions might be processed and interrupted because of the distinct character. This narrative made me consider what romance means to others as well as myself. I'll confess that the plot was a tad implausible at points. However, I found the characters to be the most realistic aspect of the novel. They were incredibly honest and authentic, which made the story feel more natural.

After reading this, I now see why this book has gained so much attention in recent months. It's the ideal summer read for anyone searching for a nice feel-good narrative!
