With all the lies promoted by main character, Madhuri Iyer:

the Relationship Experiment,
bribes to her sister,
honesty about why she quit dancing her beloved Bharatanatyam,
her changing feelings toward Arjun,
her constant lack of courage in confronting her rude and racist ex-friends,

it became hard to care about her astrological Kismat.

Except for the odd slipper throwing, her mother instead became the favorite.

Until the very end, Arjun was always giving way to both Madhuri and his own mother.
And, all along, he also lies, pretending that his romantic feelings don't exist between the two old best friends.

Worse still, he actually tells his mother to leave her own house - for which she is paying, along with his car and his food and his clothes...he never acknowledges these! Pretty entitled dude not to see that his mother's career sponsors the whole deal.

While the outcome was predictable, it was fun to see how it developed beyond the curse, Experiment, and will power.

Colorful and inviting night time cover - perfect for the Griffith Observatory.
