I love coming of age stories and I love a good road trip book! While they don't exactly leave city limits this story still made me feel a sense of adventure. I love how proudly the lgbtq community was represented and I liked the idea of how the characters connect with their african american identity in the museum. It is also clear how much Baltimore as a city is celebrated and I recommend this book to people who are natives of Baltimore. Also as a huge fan of Hamilton I appreciate the hamilton references.

Often when a person has anxiety it can be seen as traumatic to have a change happen in your life. Especially if that change is having someone who is a crutch for you disappear from your life. I like that this book explores that from the viewpoint of a child. Mental health is too often depicted from the perspective of adults and not enough from a child's.
