I really enjoyed the start of this book! The cemetery is beautifully described and serves as a wonderful respite for these boys, both of whom we get a clear impression of in even just this shorter excerpt. There's a lot of both their personalities, their friendship, and places where they might grow throughout the narrative, and they both read as young people concerned about the future in a very realistic way. I think this book will be fantastic for younger readers facing the same struggles and pressure about the future.
