Whenever you know that you are about to read a debut novel you are never sure what to expect. In this case when I began reading "The Kingdom of Liars" by Nick Martell I set my expectations fairly low. Since it was a fantasy novel and this genre had been overly developed over the years since Harry Potter I expected more of the same. I was pleasantly surprised to discover a unique and intriguing plot. This is as many fantasy novels a story that encompasses many secrets and lots of rebellious behavior surrounding a murder. The slow building and crafting of this fantasy and magical world where our hero, Michael, is determined to right wrongs and lies that have haunted him and his family. It is a long novel but very well developed.
